01. Printing Methods

We are proud to work with the best Australian printing partners to bring our designs to life at the highest quality. We offer 4 different printing methods - Digital Colour, White Ink, Letterpress and Foiling. Here is a little info about each one to help you make your decision!

Price: $
MINIMUM ORDER: 10 pieces
PAPER SUGGESTIONS / LIMITATIONS:

Digital printing can be done on any stock thickness. For full colour designs, we recommend choosing a white/ivory stock to provide a nice blank canvas for your coloured inks to shine. Black ink looks fabulous on almost any colour paper!

Digital Colour

Flat digital colour/black printing is the most basic printing method - ink saturated into the page but not pressed. Our printers use the most recent Xerox technology to make the colours and graphics in your design rich and vibrant.

White Ink

White ink printing is a similar method to digital colour printing in that it delivers a flat print (not pressed into the stock), however instead of printing your design in colour, your design is printed in all white using a specialist White Ink Digital Press.

Price: $-$$
MINIMUM ORDER: 10 pieces
PAPER SUGGESTIONS / LIMITATIONS:

White ink printing can be done on any stock thickness. Of course, white ink will not show up on whites and very light stocks, so pick a paper that is rich and dark to maximise the contrast and allow your gorgeous design to pop!

Letterpress + Embossing

Letterpress is a more complex printing method that involves literally pressing your design into a thick cardstock (with or without ink) to give a luxurious, pillowy, debossed effect. Embossing is a similar look, but the design is pressed into the paper from behind (and usually without ink) to create a raised effect off the paper.

Price: $$$
MINIMUM ORDER: 50 pieces
PAPER SUGGESTIONS / LIMITATIONS:

Letterpress can be done on stocks that are 300gsm+, but the thicker the stock, the more the paper can “squish” and the deeper the impression will be. We recommend going with a 600gsm+ cardstock for maximum pillowy goodness! It also looks best on lighter papers so you get a good contrast of shadows and highlights from that 3D effect!

Foil Press

Foiling (aka. the Beyoncé of printing) is very similar to letterpress printing, but instead of using inks, your design is pressed into the paper with gorgeous, shiny foil using a hot plate. Not only do you get the unbelievable shine, you also get the dreamy embossed effect that letterpress delivers.

Price: $$$
MINIMUM ORDER: 50 pieces
PAPER SUGGESTIONS / LIMITATIONS:

Just like letterpress, foiling can be done on 300gsm+ stocks, but the thicker the better, so we recommend going for double-thick paper (600gsm+)! Due to the foil being completely opaque, it looks amazing on any stock colour.
See our foil swatch list below.
